Brigid's Cross Whisk

I design and hand-tie every broom from natural broomcorn and weave a Brigid's Cross into the neck — a symbol tied to hearth and home protection. This is one of several styles I make; the cross is specific to this variation. I keep mine by the hearth and use it to sweep the altar or the workspace when I want to clear out the old before something new comes in. Yours can do the same, or just serve as an anchor piece to your entryway or altar. Either way, it's built to be used, not just admired. Because I make these one at a time by hand, expect some natural variation in stalk color and shape from the photos — that's the nature of working with straw instead of a mold.
